I asked over 100 teachers to share their thoughts and favorite summertime activities for teachers making the most of their summer break. The responses were diverse and inspiring, revealing a wide range of interests and hobbies. Here’s my list. 🙂

I prefer taking long walks in the evening with my dog. Exercise is good for your body and mind!

Listening to podcasts can be a great way to learn new things, stay updated on current events, or simply relax and enjoy a good story.

Tips: Libraries have free/low cost audiobooks, if you’d prefer an audiobook. Spotify does, as well.

You don’t need a professional camera to get started; many smartphones have excellent cameras and editing tools. One of the best summertime activities for teachers is time for regrouping. I am not a clean freak but I do like things to be organized. I have allergies to dust but like my windows open. Unfortunately, I wait too long to dust. :/

Oh man, yesterday I binged “Gen V”. I’ve been watching “The Boys” but never had time to check out “Gen V”. It was fun. I don’t watch a lot of t.v. during the school year but once or twice a year, I like to sit on the couch, eat snacks, and binge a show. 1. Watching Movies and TV Summer is an ideal time to catch up on movies and TV shows that you might have missed during the busy school year. Tips: I use Yelp to find coffee shops in town. Sometimes I’ll take the train a little further out. I usually go on weekday mornings and take my laptop to work on some of my personal projects. 🙂

Remember to wear sunscreen to protect your skin and bring along a good book or some music to enhance your relaxation time.
